| We will offer a new format of tango classes for complete beginners. Sign up or invite your friends today! – This will be a 12 week progressive foundational seriesThursdays starting Jan 9th 5:45 – 6:45 pm at 1303 Broad Street – Each month will have a new focus (walk/connection, ochos, turns) – At the end of the three months students should have a solid understanding of the basics of social tango and, with practice be comfortable beginning to dance at social milongas – This is a progressive series so no drop-ins will be allowedIf students wish join the series part way through arrangements can be discussed with the teachers in advance – No partner required, however, we will aim to maintain role- balance. If you don’t have a partner to sign up with let us know in advance and we will help to make arrangements – Classes are inclusive, everyone is welcome, role switching is welcome – Partners will be encouraged to rotate in the classes to ensure they are fully learning the material – Cost: $ 50 per month – ($150 for entire series). Payments can be monthly or one-timeFor registration and inquiries email kelly@alivetangovictoria.ca Wednesday pre-practica classes We will continue to offer classes on Wednesdays before the practica, but the format of these classes will change a little: – Each month will have a new theme announced at the beginning of each month (January will be Musicality) – There will be as strong focus on technique concepts related the themeClasses will be for all levels, we will show progressive degrees of difficulty when teaching sequences to challenge dancers of varying levels – These classes will be open to drop-insWe will do our best to role balance but cannot guarantee itWe suggest inviting a partner to take the class with you. – There will be opportunities to rotate partners throughout the classes (encouraged but not required) – Cost: $15 drop in (include practica) or, all 4 weeks for $50 (includes practica) **when visiting instructors are teaching the prices may be a little higher Alive Tango winter milongas! It’s Party time We are excited to announce that Alive will host a monthly milonga during Jan, Feb and March 2020 – 2nd Saturday of each month (Jan 11, Feb 8, Mar 14) – Solwood Studio (1303 Broad street)8:30 pm until – midnight – $10 per person – There may be special workshops beforehand, details tbd Happy Holidays and Best Wishes!! |
